Church west end update E-mail
An update on how plans are progressing towards the refurbishment of the west end of the church WEST END RESTORATION  Just to keep you up to date with where we are on the plans for the refurbishment and restoration of the west end of the church.  We have used the money raised in the 2007 gift day to appoint an architect for the project - Peter Pace.  He has drawn up plans which include all the work we need to do on the stonework of the church and a complete re-modelling of the narthex (entrance way) to the church.  We hope to make the area slightly bigger, to change the doors, to make it much more welcoming to visitors during the week and more useful for us as a church on Sundays.  We need to raise quite a lot more money before this work can be done (what we have raised so far will just about cover the plans and help us to start on the stonework).  To this end a working party is being formed under the chairmanship of Daniel Brookes which will manage the project from fund-raising through to the completion of the work.  It is envisaged that this whole project will take several years to complete.  The group will be meeting shortly and will report regularly through the notice sheet and website.  Please do pray.  We have a wonderful building which God has given us as a great resource in the city and we want to make the best use of it whilst also recognising our responsibility to maintain it for generation of Christians in the future.
