STEP IN to caring christian community
GROW UP knowing God's love and loving Jesus
LIVE OUT o f God's love, with the Holy Spirit's help
First Steps in Fulfilling this Vision
STEP IN to caring christian community . . .
The main time for growing in friendship with other christians and learning to follow Jesus together will be on sunday mornings. There are children's cell groups on Sunday mornings from 10am - 10.55am between the 9am service and the 11am Family service for children who come to St Michael's. These are age-specific cell groups for children who are in school years 1 - 7. These will follow the theme of the St Michael's morning services. For children at G2, there is children's work during the meeting.
GROW UP knowing God's love and loving Jesus . . .
We will work together with people from across York to initiate a new high-energy mid week children's club. This will be influenced by Bill Wilson's style of children's club. The primary focus of this club will be for children who are not Christians, in order that they can come to know God's love. Children from St Michael's and G2 will be encouraged to invite friends along to this too. This new club for children in school years 3-6 will begin in February 2009. The longer term plan is that as we partner with people from other churches, simlar clubs could be planted in different areas around York.
LIVE OUT of God's love, with the Holy Spirit's help . . .
We will ensure that the Holy Spirit is invited to be a central part of our time together in cell groups. We will also develop special times when children can be encouraged to live for Jesus and to share God's love, through the help that the Holy Spirit gives.
