About Students at St Michael's

St Michael's has a lively student scene. We aim to be a community of people who love God, care for each other, and live out the radical good news of Jesus Christ beyond the walls of Church and university. Whether you’re looking for a church home, or just curious about what we get up to, we’d love to meet you.

The church family meets at different times on Sundays in St Michael le Belfrey: at 9am, 11am and 7pm. There are also services at 11am in Hull Road (G2, at the Next Generation gym), 11am at St Helen's Church (Mandarin and English speaking)and at 8pm in St Cuthberts church (Visions, our multimedia service).  There is also a Friday night service (Conversations) which mmets at 6.00pm at the Belfrey Hall, 52 Stonegate.  Students are welcome at any of these, although most opt to come to the 7pm service, preceded by The HUB.

Don't forget to register on the website forum , there's a students section for discussion of, well, pretty much anything you like.

At the heart of the church are cell groups and these are a great way to get connected. There are loads of other activities and events during the year, including regular social nights, a regular student prayer meeting in York Minster, Summer Soul - the annual student mission to York, guest events, and opportunities to link with older Christians and families in the church.

Getting involved in the life of the church is a great way to explore and develop your gifts and vocation. There’s children’s work, music / worship, overseas mission, prayer ministry, social action, ‘dynamic’ intercessory prayer, street evangelism, history, architecture and stained glass, leading bible study, party-planning and event management – and that’s just for starters!
