PRAYER CALENDAR MARCH 2010
Praise God for answered prayer:
A team is emerging to support the work at St. Barnabas
The walk with the Spirit meeting in Church was well attended and empowering, thanks to God for His faithfulness
The Valentine's Dinners across the city were well supported and much interest was shown in the Marriage Courses
The Central Prayer Meeting was well supported and there has been encouraging feedback from those who attended.
Over £600 was raised for the Mission to Jinja
Let us ask God to continue to bless us with His revelation of the vision for the work of St. Michael's and the part each of us can play.
For more of His blessing as Roger, Matthew and the PCC work through the changing of roles.
Blessing on the partnership with the fellowship of St. Barnabas and on Ursula as she takes up her role as Priest in Charge.
That many will be prompted to attend the central Prayer Meeting on 18 March at 7.30. A growing manifestation of the vision of a fellowship built on prayer and an even deeper sense of community and unity.
God's refreshing in each of us as we meditate on the things we learned about walking with the Spirit and approach the Easter season sensitive to Jesus sacrifice and our relationship with God.
For all the cell groups that meet each week, deepening relationships with God and each other. Growth in numbers.
For Allan and Margaret Ashworth, safety in travel to Sweden and God's blessing on the work they will do there to exploring the development of cell life within church fellowship.( March 5-7 20
Pray for the formation of the new Mum's cell group. A fun community in which to pray, worship and bible study .With a crèche.
That the Student team and others in Church would develop good, rich relationships with the students and they will increasingly feel at home in St. Michael's. Also for the students God wants to attend and be blessed by the week-end away at the beginning of March. Blessing on those leading and preparing for the week-end. May all grow closer to God. Also let there be a growing sense of unity among the students in York.
Conversations and the Alpha Course: Continued growing in knowledge of God and fellowship.
For the fellowship of G2, that they will increase the number of Givers and that giving itself will increase.
Rainbow Club : A continued welcome and sense of belonging.
Continued blessing on the church Football team, a sense of community and acceptance
Youth and Children's work, James prayer requests :
Blessing on the Kidz Klub, their new 'ghetto' theme and all the leaders involved there, for their protection spiritually.
For children's cells, on Sunday morning and Monday night (led by Chris, at the Porter's.) For a new cell being setup in Clifton. That God's hand will be in it, as Bryony and Jane Allum prepare to lead. That children will be brought forward to attend and tell their friends about it. Give thanks for Caroline Lennox agreeing to be host.
For the upcoming Family focus on Saturday 13th March.
For James in his new role leading Youth and Children's work. Pray that God may grant him wisdom in the transition, 'spiritual stamina' to adjust to his new duties and responsibilities. Also God's blessing on the new, wider team adjusting to working together.
Growth and increasing passion for worshipping God expressed through Rock and Soul on March 20th.

On the 2nd March I'll be planning the prayer part of the Global Day of Prayer event in York Minster with Juliet and people from the Minster. Pray that the plans go smoothly especially with the minster currently being short staffed.
On the 23rd March I'll be in London planning the worship for the Greenbelt Festival. Pray that we get inspired and make some good decisions.
On the 29th March (Monday of Holy Week ) we're doing a Transcendence Service in Ripon Cathedral. Pray that people come to this (especially not- yet Christians) and meet God. Also pray for safe travel especially as Sue has to drive straight to Leicestershire for a gathering.
Blessing on the recording of the latest album of St Michaels worship.
God's continued anointing on the Core team planning the new 5pm service
The team going out to Jinja, UGANDA, on 1st April.
Pray for them as they make their final preparations. May they be in good health without any unexpected crises to distract them from their mission .Give them peace of mind, especially those for whom this is their first visit to Africa, and above all keep them close to You.
International Cafe : Blessing upon the Muslim people who come to the cafe (from Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Libya) also on the other nationalities (mostly Europeans)Pray for the team to be committed to the cafe, also to be strong to share the vision of the cafe with the Internationals. Pray that the cafe will be well known in the Language schools.
For the empowering of those enrolling on the various Marriage Courses around the city. A freshness in their relationships both in their marriages and with God.
